Crews for nonprofits & volunteers
Fill every volunteer session without the spreadsheet
Litter picks, food bank shifts, community garden days: every session needs the right number of people. Crews gives nonprofits and volunteer programs sign-ups with capacity limits, instant updates, participant exports and a wall that shows volunteers what they achieved.
The problem
What volunteer coordinators wrestle with
- 01
Too many or too few
The food bank needs six people for the Saturday shift. You get two, or eleven, and have to turn people away.
- 02
Last-minute changes
A session moves or gets cancelled and you’re left texting volunteers one by one.
- 03
Funders ask who came
Partners and funders want participation numbers. The list is a mix of chat replies, a spreadsheet and a clipboard.
- 04
The impact is invisible
Volunteers rarely see the before-and-after photos, which is exactly what brings them back.
How it works
A volunteering week in Crews
How a community nonprofit might run a weekend litter pick and a food bank shift.
- 1Monday
Open sign-ups
The coordinator creates the food bank shift with a capacity of six and the litter pick with no cap. Volunteers get a push notification.
- 2Midweek
Keep spots moving
When a volunteer switches to not going, their spot opens up. The attendee list shows who has a place.
- 3Friday
Share the details
Meeting point, what to wear and who has the litter pickers go in the event chat, with the key message pinned.
- 4After the session
Show the impact
Export the participant list as a CSV for your funder report, and post the before-and-after photos as memories.

Is Crews a good fit for your volunteers?
Crews suits nonprofits, community organizations and corporate volunteering programs that run regular sessions and need the right number of people at each one. Sign-ups, updates, chat and participant exports live together.
Be realistic about the cost: $59 a month is real money for a small grassroots group, and free tools like a chat app plus a sign-up sheet may be the better call if you have no budget. Crews also isn’t a full volunteer management system: there are no background checks, hour tracking, rotas or email campaigns.
Get started
set it up in 5 minutes.
Start with a 14-day free trial, no card needed. All of this works from your phone or your laptop.
- Step 1Start your 14-day trial and create a crew, public if anyone can volunteer.
- Step 2Make your session leads moderators.
- Step 3Create the next few sessions with the capacity each one needs.
- Step 4Share the crew link on your website, flyers and partner noticeboards.
- Step 5Post a memory after every session.
How much does Crews cost for a nonprofit?
$59 a month per crew, paid by the organization. Volunteers join free. Up to 100 members are included; extra members are $18 a month per 100. 14-day free trial, no card needed.
Does Crews send emails to volunteers?
No. Notifications are in-app and web push. Email notifications are on the roadmap, not available yet.
Can I track volunteer hours?
Not hours directly, but you can track who showed up. Check volunteers in at each session, see each person’s sessions attended and last attended, and export the attendance history as CSV to total hours in a spreadsheet.
Can Crews handle waivers, background checks or donations?
No. Crews doesn’t store documents or process payments.
