Crews for climbing gyms

The community hub for your climbing gym

Climbing gyms are social by nature: people come for the walls and stay for the people. Crews gives your gym a place to run the community side, from beginner nights and partner meetups to comp-night socials and outdoor trips.

The problem

What gym community managers juggle

  • 01

    Solo climbers need partners

New members want someone to rope up with. A noticeboard by the front desk and a stale Facebook group don’t really help.

  • 02

    Events outside the booking system

Beginner socials, setter Q&As and comp nights don’t fit your entry and booking software, so sign-ups end up on paper.

  • 03

    Capacity matters

A technique clinic has room for twelve on the wall. An outdoor trip has three vans. You need a real list.

  • 04

    The community is fragmented

Regulars have their own chats. The gym has no shared space where everyone hears about new sets and events.

How it works

A month at the gym, community side

How a bouldering and rope gym might run its community events in Crews.

  1. 1New set week

    Announce it

The community manager posts the new-set social on the crew calendar. Members get a push notification and RSVP.

  2. 2Wednesday

    Partner meetup night

A rope-night meetup shows who’s going, so solo climbers can see who else is coming and pair up in the event chat beforehand.

  3. 3Comp weekend

Cap the clinic, open the social

The pre-comp technique clinic has a capacity of 12. The after-party is open to everyone, with the details pinned in the event chat.

  4. 4Afterwards

    Share the sends

Photos from the comp become memories on the gym’s wall, and the gym’s crew challenges a rival gym’s crew with its best shot.

Is Crews a good fit for your gym?

Crews suits independent climbing and bouldering gyms, and multi-site chains running a crew per location, that want an active member community beyond entry and bookings. It’s at its best when the gym runs regular social events and wants members to meet each other.

It is not a booking, entry, waiver or membership system, and it doesn’t connect to one. There are no payments, and check-in only covers Crews events, not gym entry. Keep your gym software for the business side and use Crews for the people side. A gym community larger than 100 members adds member packs at $18 a month per extra 100.

FAQ

How much does Crews cost for a climbing gym?

$59 a month per crew, paid by the gym. Members join free. It includes up to 100 members; each extra 100 is $18 a month, so a 300-member community is $95 a month. 14-day free trial, no card needed.

Does Crews handle bookings, entry or waivers?

No. Crews has no bookings, entry check-in, waivers or payments, and no integrations with gym software. You can check people in to community events like socials and clinics, but it’s the community layer on top.

Can we sell comp entries?

Not yet. Ticketed events and payments are on the roadmap, not available yet. Sell entries through your existing system and use Crews for the social side.

Can staff-only events stay private?

Yes. Private, invite-only events are only visible to the people you invite, which works for staff socials or setter sessions.
