Crews vs TeamSnap
TeamSnap is built for sports team management: schedules, availability, rosters and team communication, used widely by coaches, managers and parents, especially in youth sports.
Crews isn't sports management software. It's a paid home for organizers whose groups meet up, from adult sports clubs to studios and community groups, with a shared calendar, RSVPs, real-time chat, a memory wall and friendly leagues between crews.

Key differences
- 1
Sports admin vs social group
TeamSnap is built for running teams: schedules, availability and rosters. Crews is built for the social life of a group: plans, chat, memories and some friendly rivalry.
- 2
Depth of team tools
TeamSnap goes much deeper on sports management and organization admin. Crews keeps it simple: events, RSVPs, capacity limits and roles.
- 3
Chat and memories
Crews has real-time crew and event chat with threads, polls and photos, and a memory wall where the season’s best moments live.
- 4
Setup
A crew takes a minute: create it, add an event, invite your members. There are no rosters or seasons to configure.
When TeamSnap is the better choice
TeamSnap is the right tool for serious team management.
- Youth sports teams with parents and guardians
- Clubs and leagues managing many teams
- Teams that need rosters, availability and game schedules
- Organizations that collect fees
Moving your group from TeamSnap
If your team is casual and mostly needs plans and chat, moving is quick.
- 1.Create your crew and choose public or private. Private crews are joined by invite link or approved join request.
- 2.Add the next few upcoming plans to the crew calendar, so there is something to RSVP to on day one.
- 3.Make your captain or co-organizer a moderator.
- 4.Send personal invite links to the team and ask everyone to RSVP to the next game.
- 5.Ask members to install Crews to their home screen and turn on push notifications, so they don’t miss new events.
The verdict
TeamSnap is sports team management software, and for that job it’s the better tool. Crews is for groups that want plans, chat and memories in one friendly space, including adult clubs that don’t need the admin.
Start 14-day free trialFrequently asked questions
Is Crews a TeamSnap alternative?
For adult sports clubs and social leagues, it can be. For youth sports, rosters and club administration, TeamSnap is built for that and Crews isn’t.
Can I track who is coming to a game?
Yes. Members RSVP going, maybe or not going, and you can set a capacity limit and export participants as CSV.
Does Crews support recurring practices?
Yes. Practices can repeat weekly, every 2 weeks or monthly, up to 52 sessions, and each one keeps its own RSVPs, chat and check-in.
Does Crews send reminders before events?
Yes. Everyone going gets an automatic in-app and web push reminder 24 hours and 1 hour before the event. There are no email reminders; notifications are in-app and push only.
How much does Crews cost?
Every crew starts with a 14-day free trial, no card needed. After that it’s $59/month per crew, paid by the organizer, and members join free. That includes up to 100 members; each extra 100 members is +$18/month. Billing is monthly and you can cancel anytime. Full details are on the pricing page (/pricing).
