Organizers end up doing reminders by hand: a message in the chat the night before, another an hour before, and a few direct messages to the people who always forget. It works until you get busy, and then the no-shows start.

Crews sends the reminders for you. They go only to people who RSVPed going, plus the organizer, so the maybes and not-goings aren’t pestered. And because reminders come from the event rather than the chat, they still arrive for members who have muted the crew conversation.

    Post the event

    Create an event on the crew calendar as usual. There is nothing extra to set up.

    Members RSVP going

    Everyone who taps going is on the reminder list. Change to not going and the reminders stop.

    A day before

    Crews sends a reminder 24 hours before the start, time to sort kit, childcare or a lift.

    An hour before

    A second reminder lands 1 hour before. Tap it to open the event, check the details and jump into the event chat.

When does Crews send event reminders?

Twice: 24 hours before the event starts and 1 hour before. Events created less than a day ahead skip the 24-hour reminder.

Who gets reminded?

Everyone who RSVPed going, plus the event organizer. People who answered maybe or not going don’t get reminders.

Can members turn reminders off?

Yes. Event reminders have their own switch in notification settings, separate from new events, changes, messages and mentions.

Does Crews send email or SMS reminders?

No. Reminders are in-app and web push only. Email notifications are on the roadmap, not available yet.

Can I choose different reminder times?

Not today. Reminders are always sent 24 hours and 1 hour before the start.

Do reminders work for recurring events?

Yes. Each date in a series is its own event, so people going to that date are reminded before it.
