Members can choose to share their birthday with a crew. When they do, it appears on that crew’s calendar, next to the events, where everyone will actually see it.
Birthdays hide in the wrong places
Somebody’s birthday is usually stored in one person’s phone, a social network half the group has quit, or nowhere at all. The result is the familiar scramble: a “happy birthday!!” at 11pm after someone else noticed.
On Crews, birthdays live on the same calendar as everything else the group does. It is opt-in and per crew, so a member can share their birthday with their team without telling every club they belong to, and nobody’s date appears anywhere they have not agreed to.

Add your birthday
Set your birthday in your profile. It is not shown to anyone yet.

Choose your crews
Opt in separately for each crew you want to share it with. Your team crew can see it, the big store run club does not have to.

It shows on the calendar
Shared birthdays appear on the crew calendar, and on members’ personal calendars that include that crew.

Celebrate on time
Spot it days ahead, plan a private event for the surprise, and hit send before midnight.

Birthdays are private by default. Nothing appears on any calendar until you choose to share it.

Share with some crews and not others. Change your mind whenever you like.

Birthdays sit on the same calendar as events, so you notice them while looking at what is coming up anyway.

Organizing a surprise? Create an invite-only event that the birthday person cannot see.
Who can see my birthday?
Only members of the crews you have chosen to share it with. Sharing is off by default and set separately for each crew.
Does Crews send birthday reminders?
Not at the moment. Birthdays appear on the crew calendar and your personal calendar, so you see them when you check what is coming up.
Can I share my birthday with one group but not another?
Yes. The setting is per crew. Share it with a small team or class crew and keep it off in bigger clubs.
Can I stop sharing later?
Yes. Turn sharing off for a crew at any time and your birthday disappears from that crew’s calendar.
